Influenced by Russian folktales and composed by Igor Stravinsky, Firebird is the whimsical story of a prince, the magical bird he captures, and their collaboration to destroy an evil magician. Snowman tells the story of a frosty snowman who innocently falls in love with the most unlikely of objects—a glowing, pot-bellied stove!
With a cast of 50 dancers and special music provided by Capital High School and South Charleston High School orchestras, it’s a holiday treat sure to delight

The River City Ensemble is honored to have been named West Virginia’s Official Youth Ballet during the 2007 Legislative Session.
We extend our sincerest thanks to the members of the West Virginia Legislature, and hope that our expanding contributions to the area’s cultural life will continue to merit this honor.
