The West Virginia University Eye Institute is the realization of a dream to provide every person in West Virginia with the very best eye care, no matter how difficult or serious the problem might be.
We offer a full range of eye care services including comprehensive eye exams, low vision services for adaptive devices, laser vision correction, and subspecialty medical and surgical treatment. Our physicians are Board certified and many have completed fellowships in specialized areas of ophthalmology.

West Virginia University has the state's only training program for ophthalmologists. Physicians who choose to specialize in ophthalmology complete a three-year program following medicial school and internship. West Virginia University also offers two fellowship programs for ophthalmologists who choose to subspecialize in retina or oculoplastics. Many of our graduates establish ophthalmology practices in West Virginia.
