With over 100 years in the engineering industry, Pentree, Incorporated has established an enviable portfolio of successfully completed projects. Experience with funding and regulatory agencies, coupled with patience and perseverance in guiding a project through the various levels of review ensures our clients that we'll be with them through final completion of a successful project.
Established 1904 in Oak Hill, West Virginia as a mining engineering firm, Pentree, Incorporated has withstood the test of time by responding to the changing needs of our clients. The last one hundred years have witnessed a gradual departure from the predominance of the coal industry. In the wake of this change, municipalities, counties and public service districts have stepped up to fill the void left in utility services once provided by the coal companies. It was a natural step for Pentree, Incorporated to migrate into the civil engineering aspect of client service.
To serve the burgeoning need for professional civil engineering, Pentree, Incorporated began hiring the young, fresh talent coming from the area’s best engineering schools - a practice we maintain to this day. Our philosophy at Pentree, Incorporated is to bring the new talent in and let them learn the business from the ground up - literally. Our Engineers-In-Training start in the field - doing survey work. That kind of experience provides a realistic aspect to our design work.
Eventually, our offices relocated to the Princeton area, and in the years since, Pentree, Incorporated has become well known in the area as a water and wastewater engineering firm. In the last twelve years alone, we have designed and in most cases, inspected over seventy water projects and sixty wastewater projects. These projects have ranged in scope from small raw water source development to larger (.75 mgd) treatment plants. We have been instrumental in providing the design for the first major Chesapeake Bay Compliant Wastewater Treatment Plant in the West Virginia. We have designed, provided funding assistance, acquired permits, provided right of way, bidding and inspection services and performed contract administration for the majority of those projects. We also produced the aerial mapping required for these projects with our own in-house Photogrammetry Department
When it comes to experience, Pentree, Incorporated has exceptional qualifications for meeting the challenge of change.
